Refreshments

At St Nicolas we have several teams preparing and serving refreshments at different times and on different occassions.

Here you can contact the coordinator of the team that best suits your availability and willingness to help.

Refreshments after Sunday and Thursday services

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me” (Matthew 25:35)

Our teams prepare and serve complementary refreshments on a rota basis in pairs after 10am Sunday and 10am Thursday morning communion services.  The flexible area in the south aisle and church room each provide good spaces for catching up and making new acquaintances by many people each week. New team members are welcome, both as regulars or reserves. Arrival by 9.30am allows for preparation and setting up before the services, leaving around noon after clearing up. Training is provided.

Refreshments for Tuesday Coffee

Members of the team meet at around 9.30 am to set up for the Coffee Morning in the Pastoral Centre, then provide refreshments (tea and coffee, biscuits) to all who come and when there is time we sit with our clients and enjoy conversation with them.   The  people leave by 12.00 noon, we finish the clearing up by 12.00 – 12.15 pm.  There are always two of the Team on duty.
