Musical worship at St Nicolas
O' Come let us sing for joy to the Lord, let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Psalm 95 v 1
Music is an incredibly important part of our worship at St Nicolas and we are blessed with both a traditional Choir, with an organist, and those who are able to play more contemporary worship songs as well. All of these people make up an essential part of the life of St Nicolas and both are always eager to welcome new members, passionate about worshipping God through music.
If you'd like to join our Easter Sunday musical worship here are the instructions on how to particpate in a video Chris Turner is making of 'See What a Morning'
The Choir
The Junior Choir
If you have a child who has an interest in singing or music then it could be that they would like to join the St Nicolas Church Choir. Any child aged between 8-15 is welcome to apply.
St Nicolas' Choir consists of children and adults who proudly maintain its long-standing musical tradition. The Choir is affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM), with which the choir has close connections.
Joining the Choir does come with commitments which any member of the choir would be expected to keep, namely the practicises and weekly services.
We always sing for the 10am service on Sundays, practice for which starts promptly at 9:30am.
There are also practices on a Thursday evening at 6:30pm - 8:15pm for those aged 15 and under.
Please be aware that there could well be additional commitments around busy times such as Christmas and Easter, there is also the possibility to sing for weddings or funeral services.
