The Friends of St Nicolas
The 'Friends of St Nicolas' is a separate charity set up in 1983 by local councillor Ken Matts. Our primary aim is to fund works at the Church that will help preserve this lovely grade I listed building for future generations to enjoy. It was specifically formed to allow non-churchgoing members of the community to help maintain this beautiful building
Friends pay an annual subscription, and we have also received legacies and the results of specific appeals.
Over the years we have been able to contribute over £210,000 towards essential works at St Nicolas.
Please join us and help ensure that the village retains its splendid church right in its heart.
Just email friends@stnicolasbookham.org.uk and we will get in touch.

Upcoming events
We are planning a visit to the St Cross Hospital and Almshouse of the Noble Poor near Winchester on Wednesday 16 September.
This is probably the oldest charitable institution in the country still in operation, dating back to the 12th century.
