Praying Together at St Nicolas

Prayer is a vital part of Christian life and that is as true here at St Nicolas as anywhere. As it says in Ephesians chapter 6:18

"Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people."

Regular Prayer Meetings

We have a number of prayer meetings which happen regularly:

  • Monday and Wednesday prayers  - 8.30-9.15 am  - online - where we meet to pray for those who have asked for prayer

  • Saturday prayers – 9-9.30 - 2nd and 4th Saturday - online

  • Church Development Plan (CDP) prayers - 10-11 am - 1st Saturday in person in the church room

  • Silent Prayer group – 12-12.45pm - 4th Monday in person

All are welcome. If you want to join the online meetings, or you want to be added to the ditribution list for the CDP Prayer updates, please press the "Contact Me" buttone below.

When using the "Contact Me" button, please include your name, contact details and the reason for your request. If you want a copy of the request, please add yourself to the address line.

Prayer Partners

You may also wish to pray regularly with someone (a prayer buddy) or in a small group (‘Prayer Triplet’)

Prayer triplets are small, voluntary groups of three (sometimes 2–4) individuals who meet regularly to pray for, support, encourage and challenge each other. They provide a confidential, low-pressure space for sharing, spiritual growth, and focused prayer for personal needs, the church, and the world. The concept is based on Matthew 18:20, "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them”.

If you are interested in praying with others in this way please talk to a member of the Ministry Team.

Other Prayer Ministries

Prayer often engages us with the personal lives of others, particularly at a time of vulnerability. Such ministry is also seen as a personal calling from God endorsed by the gifting of the Holy Spirit. Therefore these ministeries are entered by invitation only, and after a period of discernment.

If you feel called to a ministry of prayer, we recommend that you begin by joining one of our regular prayer meetings, and discussing your sense of calling with the Rector.

These ministries are conducted either in private by joining our team of Prayer Warriors; or in person with those being prayed with or for by joining our Prayer Ministry team.
