Growing together through every stage of life

Whatever our stage of life or faith, there are many opportunities at St Nicolas to grow in our faith as we explore together what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
Whether you want to try out, join or help support one of these groups, please reach out by using the appropriate 'Contact Me' button. Alternatively you might want to work through our Spiritual Reflection exercise or explore some personally recommended Discipleship and Learning resources.
When using the "Contact Me" button, please include your name, contact details and the reason for your request. If you want a copy of the request, please add yourself to the address line.
Children and Youth
Use this 'Contact Me' button for all Children's activity requests.
For Youth activity requests, please contact the Bookham Youth Project via the Leatherhead Youth Project.
Children on Sunday
Children are always welcome to our Sunday 10am Services! Don’t worry if they make a little noise, God loves children just as they are, and so do we. There is a children’s corner with toys and books for under-5s to enjoy with their parent or carer. This is not a staffed crèche, so little ones need to stay with their grown-ups.
When Glow, our kids’ group, is running, children can be dropped off in the Church Room from 9:55am with two DBS-checked, safely recruited members of the kids’ team. Children return to the service at around 10:50am.
To help us keep children safe, we kindly ask that adults who are not safely recruited by the church return to the service while Glow is running.
Tot's Alive
Tot's Alive is our Monday Morning toddlers group for pre-school children. It runs in our Church Room from 10am and provides a social setting for carers and (grand)parents alike.
You do not need to pre-book, just turn up - but it is very popular at times. To avoid disappointment don't be too late!
Adults
We have a variety of regular adult groups, some for women, some for men and some mixed gender.
In addition we also run occassional discipleship courses which are announced in our weekly news-sheet. So watch out for these.
For Women - Bloom
Bloom is a women’s breakfast. It is held on a Saturday morning between 09.00 and 10.30. Bloom is roughly every 2 months. It is a lively, chatty social event giving women time to socialise with other women over a delicious breakfast. There is a speaker and a Christian theme. We try to cater for women who wouldn’t chose to come to church to ignite some interest in them to explore their own beliefs.
If you chose to volunteer to help at Bloom you could do as little or as much as you wish; we would appreciate help planning, advertising, promoting, setting up and packing away, baking, making breakfast muffins, cutting up fruit for a fruit salad and flower arranging.
For Men
Barnabas is a jovial men's fellowship which meets to discuss a Christian perspective on the subject introduced at the meeting over a light breakfast.
Everyone is encouraged to lead a discussion or lead the short time of prayer, and the rota is established annually.
Barnabas meets in the Pastoral Centre almost every third Saturday of the month, with our August and December meetings held at The Vineries coffee shop. In December, partners are invited to join us.
The contact for this activity has not yet been established. Your request will instead be sent to the Next Steps Team for further help.
Housegroups are mixed-gender

St. Nicolas has six housegroups meeting regularly [some weekly, some every two weeks, some once a month] in different homes, to pray and study together, to discuss different aspects of living our faith, and to support each other.
You can find out more about our housegroups from the Housegroup Page, or in the leaflet which is available in the Church Tower.
To discuss the possibility of joining or even starting a Housegoup at St Nicolas, use this 'Contact Me' button.
Discipleship Groups
We seek to provide a range of courses to help people take an initial step on their Christian journey as well as to equip them for that ongoing journey. We'd love to hear from you if there is something you think might help you even if you are not sure what it is! Just reach out using this 'Contact Me' button.
