Sundays at St Nicolas

"Where two or three gather in My name, there am I with them"

A simple service in church on Sundays at 10am is now available,

but space is limited and registration is required - please see our home page

Please see here for information on other ways of worshipping with us

We believe it is important to meet together as a Church family and welcome anyone to join us any Sunday!

8am Service of Holy Communion (Spoken)

This is a traditional service where there is no singing, only speaking, and which follows a  formal pattern.  There is an opportunity to celebrate communion in this service.  You will be given an Order of Service (a paper booklet with all the words you will need for the service) but you are welcome to just sit & listen if you wish, you are not expected to join in if you don't want to.

10am Service of Holy Communion

This service has a formal structure and is traditional in style with hymns led by an organ and our choir.  You will be given a service booklet and hymn book with all the words you will need for the service.  The Minister leading the service will tell you where to find the words you need.  Everyone is welcome to participate in whatever way they are comfortable with - you are welcome to just sit & listen if you prefer.  No-one will mind!

This is a service of communion so we invite all who know Jesus as their Saviour & Lord to receive bread and wine.  Anyone is welcome to receive a blessing (be prayed for) during the time of communion.

There is a space in the church stocked with resources for children of all ages (books, colouring, baby toys etc.) and small manned crèche will meet during the service.  When possible there'll also be a group for ages 3-7.  You can find out more about children's provision here.

There is always time for a chat over coffee after the service.

The first Sunday of each month is a service of morning prayer (where there is no Holy Communion).

The 5 o'clock Gathering in the Pastoral centre

Occasionally we meet at 5pm in the Pastoral Centre (building at the back of the Churchyard) for an hour of fellowship which will include: contemporary songs, a film clip followed by discussion (which all are free to participate with as and how they wish) and time for prayer as well as space for testimonies etc.  There will also be tea and cake! Please check the details of the weekly services on the home page to see if we are meeting this week.
