Lockdown 3 - Book for service v2.jpg

What we are doing during the Pandemic

The Church continues to be alive and active, and our worship of God and our care for each other continue.

On Sundays at 10.00am we offer a simple said service of Holy Communion in church. Booking must be made in advance: please see the note below for details.

All other services and meetings in St Nicolas church are suspended. The church is now only open for the 10am Sunday service and is closed at all other times.

We have developed ways of supporting everyone in our parish who wishes to be part of our Christian fellowship. We continue to offer online services and are posting videos and messages on this website.

Please see here for further information, including the Rector's weekly emails (most recent 7 January )

If you couldn't get to Share the Light, you can watch it here!

Note : There are 15 minutes of carols, before the service so you may want to fast forward

Worshipping in Church

Church in Person

We continue to offer a simplified weekly service in church. This will usually be a said service of Holy Communion. Sadly current restrictions mean that there will be no sharing of the Peace, communion will be received in one kind only (i.e. no sharing of the communion cup), no singing and there will be no refreshments afterwards.

Because we must restrict numbers in order to keep people safe, you need to let us know in advance if you would like to be present. We'll operate on a 'first-booked, first served' basis. Please click on the 'Eventbrite' logo on the right to book a 'ticket'.

Please note that each 'ticket' is for up to 4 people (the most we can seat in one pew) from one household or bubble. If your group is 4 or less from the same household or bubble, you only need one ticket. If you are booking for more than 4 from the same household, or for more than one household, then please book the appropriate number of tickets. Thank you

Upcoming on-line service

'Keeping in step with the Spirit’, 10 January,10am

At the beginning of Jesus’ ministry, God sent the Holy Spirit on him.
God continues to send the Holy Spirit
on all of us whose desire it is to know and serve him.
Do join us for this service of readings, teaching,
prayer and song in worship of God.
The video begins with just under 3 minutes of music, so please start it at 09:57 if you wish to join with those worshipping in church.

Prayer

Surely at this time prayer is more important than ever. Please do pray for our community and all those in the caring professions as well as everyone affected by the Coronavirus. There is support for daily prayers at our Prayer Page, where you can also ask us to pray for someone or something important to you
